Kutahya rug 148 x 217 cm
Kilim from circa 1800 with two panels from a Yerli village in the Kutahya region. Made in only two colors and without any pattern, it has an abstract, minimalist look. Turkish villagers call such blankets bulgur-kilim after use because wheat (bulgur) was cooked and dried on them and prepared as winter provisions. Sewn onto canvas.
