A kilim is a handwoven rug made of 100% wool – thinner than a knotted carpet, but extremely durable, reversible, and usually vegetable dyed.
Always genuinely handwoven — never machine-made. Every kilim in our collection is handwoven from 100% natural wool, mostly vegetable dyed; a unique, reversible character rug, not a machine-made imitation. Since 1994, our advisors personally guarantee their origin and quality.

A kilim is a woven rug. The material is the same as almost all knotted carpets in our collection (wool), but manufactured with a different technique. We often call them character rugs, quirky rugs, because a kilim does exactly what it wants. It can seamlessly integrate into an interior, or it can be a statement. It can radiate calm, or it can be the eye-catcher. And in terms of size, it doesn't necessarily have to follow the "rules" of a regular rug. Kilims are cheerful, robust, colorful, and contemporary. They are naturally thinner than knotted rugs, but with a good underlay, they lie flat and are completely non-slip.
Unique weaving technique
Due to the weaving technique (slit weave), kilims can be used on two sides. Flip the kilim over and you have a new rug. We are proud to have one of the most extensive kilim collections in the Netherlands, from various regions and ranging from new kilims to antique pieces. Afghan kilims often have earth tones that are slightly softer and calmer, while Persian kilims more often show striking colors. And then there are kilims from Turkey, Moldova, Russia, etc. The wool is strong, which makes the kilims durable, and most pieces are vegetable dyed. Because weaving is generally faster than knotting carpets, the prices per square meter are usually significantly lower.
