Border after border towards the centre: this large Amira kilim is built up like a frame around a field of diamonds.
This Amira kilim was woven by hand in Afghanistan from hand-spun wool and vegetable dyes. The rug has a centre field with diamonds in red, light blue and sand, surrounded by several wide borders in grey-green, red and ochre. Looks lovely under a dining table or as the base of a seating area.
