A Mamluk in soft light blue, almost hushed.
This very finely knotted Mamluk rug was made by Afghans after the example of 14th-15th-century rugs knotted for the sultans of Egypt. You see an octagonal central motif on a soft light blue field, with faded geometric motifs in grey and sand. Gives a large living room a warm base.
