Mamluk 175 x 237 cm
Turquoise and green: a Mamluk with orange-red accents.
Afghan knotters made this very finely knotted Mamluk rug after the example of 14th-15th-century rugs knotted for the sultans of Egypt. In the photo you can see round medallions in green on a turquoise field with orange-red accents, within a grey-green border.
