How the viewing service works — in four steps

2Make an appointmentWe'll schedule a time that suits you — often within one or two weeks. We travel to you, throughout the Netherlands, from Groningen, Amstelveen, or Hilversum.
3View at homeWe bring 3 to 8 rugs in your color palette and size. We lay them out in your space, in your light, next to your furniture. You take your time to choose.

Why view a rug in your home?

Color looks different at home

Hand-knotted rugs use natural dyes that appear different in every lighting situation — warm in halogen light, cooler in daylight, deeper in the evening. In a gallery, you see one lighting situation. At home, you see your light.

Size is difficult to estimate

A 200×300 cm rug next to a 240 cm sofa feels different than in a gallery without context. At home, you immediately see if the rug is too small, too large, or just right. Many customers choose a different size after a home viewing than they initially thought.

Pattern works with or against your interior

A geometric kilim pattern can energize a calm interior — or make a busy interior chaotic. You only see this in context: next to your sofa, your cabinet, your curtains.

Feeling the texture makes a big difference

High-pile Berber, flat kilim, fine Persian knot — each feels different underfoot. At home, you can stand on it, your children can play on it, your dog can walk over it. That's a test no gallery visit provides.

What do we bring?

Based on your wishes — color, size, style, space usage, budget — our advisor selects 3 to 8 rugs from our collection of over 3,000 hand-knotted pieces. What you can expect:

Persian rugs

Classic hand-knotted rugs — Nain, Tabriz, Heriz, Kashan, Isphahan, Bakhtiari. Finely knotted, naturally dyed.

Kilims

Flat-woven character rugs — Anatolian, Afghan, Iranian, or Caucasian. Geometric, double-sided, vibrant.

Berber rugs

Moroccan Beni Ouarain (high-pile, cream with black diamonds) or Boucherouite (colorful recycled).

Gabbeh rugs

Iranian shepherd rugs — thick, woolly, brightly colored. Ideal for families and pets.

Designer rugs

Contemporary hand-knotted designs — modern color palettes, abstract patterns for sleek interiors.

Antique rugs

Pieces 80–130 years old — Persian, Senneh kilim, Caucasian, Deventer. By selection and upon request.

Which areas do you cover?

We operate throughout the entire Netherlands — from our three galleries in Groningen, Amstelveen, and Hilversum. No extra charges for travel distance. From Maastricht to Den Helder, from Vlissingen to Winschoten. For Belgium or Germany (border region), viewing service is possible by arrangement.

Frequently asked questions about the viewing service

Does the viewing service cost anything?

No. The viewing service is completely free and without obligation. No call-out charges, no rental fees, no hidden costs. Even if you ultimately don't choose anything, you pay nothing.

Do you also come to my region?

Yes — we drive throughout the entire Netherlands from our three galleries (Groningen, Amstelveen, Hilversum). From Maastricht to Den Helder, from Vlissingen to Winschoten. For Belgium or the German border region, this is possible by arrangement.

How many rugs do you bring?

Usually 3 to 8 rugs, selected based on your wishes (color, size, style, budget). If in doubt about color or style, we bring more; for a very specific request, sometimes fewer.

What if I don't choose any?

No problem. We take everything back, and you pay nothing. We only ask that you tell us what didn't appeal to you — then we will bring a better selection next time. No obligation to purchase.

How long does a visit last?

Count on 45 minutes to 1.5 hours. We bring the rugs inside, lay them out, tell you about their origin and characteristics, and give you plenty of time to choose. You set the pace.

How quickly can I get an appointment?

Usually within one to two weeks, depending on your location and our schedule. For customers near Groningen, Amstelveen, or Hilversum, often sooner. Call us for the current schedule.

Can I visit the gallery first?

Yes, absolutely. Many customers first orient themselves in one of our three galleries and then use the viewing service for the final choice in their own space. The combination is strong: gallery for broad selection, home for final decision.

What if I want a custom-made rug — can I also try that?

A custom-made rug is specially made for you, so there is no sample to "try". What we do do: before you decide, we bring comparable examples in your desired color scheme and style so you can see how wool, color, and texture work in your space — before you determine the final size and color.
