Our collection of Persian rugs is gathered from a much larger area than the name suggests. After all, "Persian" actually refers to ancient Persia, or Iran — which is why these rugs are also called Iranian rugs. And although a large part of this collection comes from there, other countries and regions are also purveyors. Each rug also carries a rich history of centuries-old knotting traditions — a piece of art on your floor.
Always truly hand-knotted — never machine-made. Every Persian carpet in this collection is made knot by knot by hand from natural wool and vegetable dyes; you buy a guaranteed original, unique piece and not a machine-woven or "inspired by" rug. Origin of Persian rugs
Think of Afghanistan, Turkey, India, etc. It might therefore be better to speak of "Oriental rugs" here. What they all have in common is that they are hand-knotted — knot by knot with the Persian knot — and of very high quality. The rich patterns are often more classic, sometimes floral, sometimes geometric, and sometimes feature (centuries-old) symbols; the craftsmanship ensures refined, unique patterns that you won't find in a machine-made rug. Most "Persians" are knotted from hand-spun wool, although there are also some silk pieces among them. A Persian rug is entirely hand-knotted on a vertical loom. Row by row, the knotter lays thousands of individual knots — often the so-called Persian (Senneh) knot — around the cotton warp threads. After each row, a weft thread is beaten down, and finally, the pile is trimmed to height. A single rug often takes months to complete, which makes each piece unique.

How do I maintain a Persian rug?
